- Abstract:
- The performance of a website is a fundamental aspect for its success. 80% of all time waiting for webpages takes place after the server has already finished his work. The regular approach for speeding up is tuning the server, optimizing databases and spend more money on hardware but the majority of display time is taken up on the client side. So this is an essential part of the whole performance-optimization and thus our starting point for improvements. If we take the time to disclose the secrets of browser performance a speed-boost of around 50% is reached easily. Our presentation covers the main aspects of that process. We will show how to speed up the load of a standard website by using simple and powerful but mainly unknown methods. The methods and rules include: Content Delivery Networks, Server Configuration, CSS/Javascript-optimization etc. We'll also show how to reliably test and monitor the performance of your website.
